We’re about to really date ourselves here, but growing up the first game system we had was an Atari 2600 and the first game was Pac-Man. You see, when you only have a single game to play you spend hours, days, weeks with the singular task of beating that game. Pac-Man became one of our best childhood friends and the ghosts, well to this day we’re not a fan of those dudes. STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS

So you know we love movies right? Star Trek Into Darkness kicks off the 2013 sci-fi summer blockbuster schedule, officially opening in theaters today. Fans say it’s a “must see!,” so even the critics have to line up for this one! It’s okay if you’re not a Trekie, J.J. Abrams is an incredible storyteller. He’s the director behind the movies Super 8, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, the TV show Lost, and he’s about to start working on Star Wars: Episode VII. Get your popcorn and your 3-D glasses ready because it’s all about the visuals with this one. The set design and the costumes are also amazing. Into Darkness lays the groundwork for young Captain Krik as he grows into his leadership of the Starship Enterprise. This flick is probably going to be the summer’s best feel-good sci-fi movie. Aside from the awesome visuals and costumes, J.J. Abrams allows each character to come to life throughout the film. Even though the setting is way in the future, each character shows lots of old school traits based on friendship, trust, loyalty, and honor.Go check it out!

When you put floral print on a 5-panel strapback, you’re almost certainly going to wind up with a piece of headwear glory. It’s basically a recipe that’s impossible to mess up. That being said, you’re still going to find certain brands that will do it better than others. In this instance, Stussy is that brand. They’ve decided, as usual, to head to the kitchen and cook up some heat by creating this royal blue, red, and white colorway. The Hawaiian floral is noticeable, but not too loud, and of course the hat is finished off with a few bold Stussy typefaces and a Stussy logo. Listening to Midnight Marauders last night around, well, midnight, the realization that our college girlfriend probably still has the last A Tribe Called Quest we owned sent us on an internet search. What did we find but something better than we could have ever imagined: the Marauder 93 shorts. Let’s see, what can we say about the super secretive downtown DJ duo Night Time Friends? Well, they’re a pair of dudes who have been DJing for over a dozen years and recently they started making original jams. They remixed a Diamond Rings track and they currently have a track called “Get It In” in a Sony campaign. We guess at this point they’re more secretive than Daft Punk, whose track “Doin’ It Right” they just remixed. Yeah, we’re premiering this remix, it’s radical, and it’s available for download now! The ever collaboratively successful Marc Jacobs—aka “MJ”—teams up with artist and KRINK founder Craig Costello aka—“KR”—to present a rad little offering of assorted paint markers. If you didn’t already know, Jacobs and Costello experienced their rise to cult following in fashion and art respectively in the early ’90s. Being part of the creative scene downtown, this partnership makes sense, and it’s actually pretty cool to see these two creative join forces. LAST HEIR - CLOSURE

When we asked Last Heir how they came together they simply responded, “We met from a mutual love of not attending classes and music via University in Brighton.” Only four and a half months old the trio has already filmed a video for the track entitled “Closure” and we’ve got the exclusive premiere. The guys are fans of bands like Yuck, Wavves, Metz, and the La’s, we also hear a reminiscent fuzz of one our favorite young ’90s bands Silverchair. The style of this video—with the strobe, flannel, and DIY approach definitely gives off a Bleach-era Nirvana vibe. We’re stoked on these dudes and the only problem we have is that at the moment not much of their music is available. But then again what can you expect at four months? We did find this other song called “Way Teen” which has a real Pixies feel. Anyway, we’ll be following up with these guys and keep you in the loop with new music and visuals from them.
